echelon helps virginia tech students find campus opportunities (internships, research, jobs, organizations, hackathons, scholarships) by swiping through them, with ai doing the matching.
how it works
a native ios app written in swiftui talks to a fastapi backend. gemini parses resumes, produces embeddings and explains why an opportunity matches. databricks holds the data and the search index. the backend covers student profiles, opportunity ingestion and the recommendation pipeline.
it was built as a hackathon prototype.
